TESTIMONIALS

Words can't even come close to saying how much I miss you bro, your smile, your love, your strength, your amazing guidance through every step of my life. You are truly what every person should aspire to be. When you had a goal, you reached it and nothing could stop you, you were truly a gentleman and a scholar. I now wear this suit of Roman armor in your honor and remembrance. The Romans were vicious warriors and brilliant politicians which I think you embodied both to the utmost. You will always be right here with me big bro watching over me and guarding me like this suit of armor. I promise to make you proud and show you how much you truly influenced me to be a better person in every aspect of life. Will miss and love you for eternity.

Jordan was one of the smartest and nicest people I have come across in my life. It almost made it hard to hit him in football practice.

...Jordan was such a lively and vivid presence in and out of the classroom that it is hard to believe he is gone.  When he was working on his thesis on Frost he threw himself into the project with the usual gusto and intensity that I had come to expect of him.  One doesn't expect such a bright light to so suddenly disappear.

Professor, Tulane University

“….Simply stated, Jordan was the kind of young lawyer and person that anybody -- anybody -- would want in a foxhole with them.  When times were tough, he fought harder and worked smarter.  He always saw the glass as half-full.  His smile was contagious and he was an inspiration to our other young lawyers about perseverance and seeing a job through from start to finish.  He was a leader amongst our associate attorneys with his attention to detail.  His tie was always perfectly knotted, his shoes polished and he was an example of the best that MBLB has to offer.  He was a beacon of inspiration to us all and an understatement of epic proportions to state that he will be sorely missed.”

…the vigor with which Jordan lived his life, the love and respect he had for his family, friends and colleagues continues in each of us. We hope that the dedication of this issue of the Loyola Maritime Law Journal will help his family to know how much Jordan affected the lives of everyone who knew him. He was certainly extraordinary and will forever remain in our hearts.

….Jordan and I met at Junior Statesman of America Summer School at Princeton in 2004. Everyone knew that Jordan was special, that he was marked out for greatness. He was so gracious and charming, polite and just the slightest bit mischievous.

Jordan was one of my most significant role models-- he showed me a clear example of a peer who was appropriately ambitious, successful, and confident while remaining moral, humble, and true to his values. He spurred on my desire to set big goals for myself, as I saw him doing. I know that I have had larger dreams and higher expectations of myself because of his example, and I have reaped the benefits of his influence ever since. I have happily applauded Jordan's many triumphs and successes through Facebook, including graduating law school and securing his position at Mouledoux (it's not everyone who can be a maritime lawyer!). I had always assumed that I would see him again someday on TV when he became a senator, as was his dream when we were at summer school. I will remember his immense vocabulary and signature speech patterns with particular fondness, and of course his marvelous New Orleans accent.
I am so grateful that I got to share in a portion of your son's life way back when, to adore him and cherish his friendship and learn from him. Thank you for pouring your energy, love, wisdom, faith in God, and optimism into Jordan: he lived a life that testified to the beauty and truth of those things, and his memory will be treasured…

Jordan made an incredible impact on campus.  He was an extern and I coached him through a mock interview for what became a formal job offer. He never missed a beat at taking advantage of all of the opportunities while in law school. He was a bright star on this campus. He led the way to create an online maritime blog which now boast over 50 countries and 200 readers. At all times, he was courteous, professional and led by example.
